Explanation of the Exam
This scan produces cross-sectional x-ray images of the pelvis. It is used to diagnose diseases of the colon, other pelvic organs, and pelvic bones. It is often performed in conjunction with an abdominal CT examination. You may be asked to drink oral contrast, and you may receive an intravenous injection of contrast as part of the scan.
Approximate Exam Time
Patients will be given specific instruction at the time of scheduling. Please inform the staff if there is any possibility of PREGNANCY or history of contrast allergy at the time of scheduling your appointment.
